HELPING HANDS:Each month we will be asking for specific donations to be handed out during the Helping Hands sessions. For the month of Januarywe are asking for donations of cleaning supplies and body wash. All donations can be dropped off at United during normal office hours, or contact Wendy Seyler (570) 502-0683. As always, your kindness is greatly appreciated.

ONE-GALLON CHALLENGE:The Clinton County Ministerium is sponsoring their annual fund drive to help our brothers and sisters who struggle to heat their homes each winter. Everyone is asked to donate the cost of one gallon of fuel ($4.00). 

LOCK HAVEN UNIVERSITYhas opened a Food Cupboard at the Former Beth Yehuda Synagogue. All donations collected will be given to LHU students in need. Donations needed include: peanut butter, jelly, mac & cheese, small microwavable meal containers (not frozen), fruit and/or pudding cups, small cans of tuna or chicken, small packages of instant rice and/or potatoes, soup, popcorn, and paper products. Any monetary donations can be made payable to the Lock Haven University Foundation. Please contact Amy Downes at (570) 484-2305 or Havencupboard@lockhaven.eduwith any questions. Food is given out every Wednesday from 7-9 PM. It has re-opened for Spring semester.

CHICKEN & WAFFLE DINNERwill be held on Sun., Feb. 16thfrom 10:30 AM-1:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall at United. Dinner is $8 for Adults, $5 for kids 5-11, Under 5 is FREE!! Dinner includes chicken & waffles (with your choice of gravy or syrup), mashed potatoes, drinks, and dessert. Take-outs will be available. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend! 

NITTANY VALLEY FELLOWSHIPwill meet on Mon., Feb. 3rdbeginning at 7 PM at St. Paul, Mill Hall.

WELCAwill meet on Tues., Feb. 4that 12 Noon at United in the Painter Room, weather permitting. 

JOINT COUNCILwill be held on Thurs., Feb. 13thbeginning at 7 PM at St. John, Booneville.

PROTESTANT CAMPUS MINISTRYis collecting hot chocolate packets, Valentine’s candy, and fruit cups to be distributed as goody bags to our LHU students. Donations will be collected through Sun., Feb. 16th. Please drop all donations off at United or contact the office (570) 748-7932 about pickup.

+SPRING CLEANING YET?WELCA and Chat & Craft will hold their 12thAnnual Rummage Sale on May 1st& 2ndat United. We are asking you to bring in any of your used items in good condition to be sold. If you are unable to drop off your donations, please contact Kay Land (570) 748-5978 to make arrangements for pick-up.

+SHROVE TUESDAY:You are invited to a Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner beginning at 6:30 PM on Tues., Feb. 25that St. John, Booneville. We will have a delicious pancake dinner and enjoy fellowship and activities on the last day before Lent begins. Invite a friend or neighbor. All are welcome to come and join the fun!

UNITED, LOCK HAVEN NEWS

SOCK TREE!!We will be collecting children’s socks during the winter months of January and February. All sock donations can be placed on the tree located in the narthex area. Donations will be given to the Shoe Bank.

CHAT & CRAFTwill meet on the 2nd& 4thThursdays of each month beginning at 9 AM in the Painter Room. The next meeting will be held on Thurs., Feb. 13th, weather permitting.

SANDWICH SALE:WELCA is currently holding a sandwich sale to benefit our Scholarship Fund at United. Sandwiches for sale include: Ham & Cheese sandwich $4 each, Turkey & Cheese sandwich $4 each, and Cold Cut Hoagies $5 each. Orders are due by Wed., Feb. 5th. Delivery is Wed., Feb. 12thfrom 11-1 PM in the first-floor hallway. Please contact any WELCA member to order your sandwich.

YOUTH BIBLE STUDYwill be held on Sun., Feb. 9thfrom 3:30-5:30 PM in Fellowship Hall at United. Please note the change in date due to the Super Bowl.

SOUPER BOWLwill be held TODAY. Sunday School will be collecting monies to benefit One Gallon Challenge. Please look for our Sunday School students with your monetary donations.

PHONE CHAIN:A phone chain list for possible emergency cancellation of our worship services has been posted on the table in the Narthex. Please review your contact information and let the office know of any changes.
